Free at last!

Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, he is free at last!

My best friend, greatest admirer, boldest encourager, and beloved husband of 40 years (My! How time flies when you're having fun!) left this life to be with Jesus this afternoon, after a long struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS- sometimes called Lou Gehrig's Disease.

I am surrounded by our kids and their kids, and we are rejoicing in his graduation to a better world. God's grace is holding me together... Thank you all for praying.

So sorry to hear of your loss, hopefully you got to feel the greater joy of his going to be with God. My stepmother left in 2009 of that disease, the same year I lost the first of my two out of three brothers, the second three weeks ago.

All things with joy and supplication? Hugs ...and enjoy spiritual communion with him and all believers...so much greater..yet the sadness at times of our human senses, that we need such reciprocation. I pray that there are those with plenty of physical hugs for you.

My prayers go out to you and your family. We have a dear friend who is suffering from ALS right now and it is a struggle as you well know. It sounds like you are a courageous woman and I'm sure your husband felt that support and love from you to the last. God bless you. emoticon
