hey spark folks--its some weird time of night and I can't sleep right now. a cup of sleepytime and a piece of toast and some quiet time on the puter. I just uploaded "walden" and will go and start reading it when I am done here.
living room painting is done except for one detail and I am wrestling with the color choice. its the trim around the door. I think rob made the decision for me--and I should have just enough of that color paint left. really like it--very happy with the new vibe in the room. I want to do a big watercolor painting of some of the flowers that grow outside the big picture window--my whole idea was to bring my garden inside the room, so the flow is kind of seamless between the two spaces.
we went to baileys last weekend--its a crazy place--sort of a redneck version of sam's club. you never know what you are going to find there. but I was wanting some mirrors for the living room to bounce the light around and lo and behold, there were some really nice mirrors there! one mirror was a beautiful craftsman mirror made by southern living--they were beautiful but we went through the entire stack and they all had some pretty visible flaws in the frames (it IS a closeout place after all--so you have to be careful) but there was another large box containing SIX beveled mirrors in various sizes--most of which are just about perfect for what I wanted--and it was a steal at 18.00. I am going to move my beloved dog picture to the dark brown wall and was thinking about flanking it with two mirrors--now I have the mirrors, and I will go to the trim outlet store and buy some molding to make into frames. the largest mirror of the set will work very well over the fireplace, and I can flank it with some new paintings that I want to do. so it will be very nice indeed, fresh and new. I guess it took this insanely snowy winter to push me into making a room GREEN--since I am longing to see that color!

Sounds great! I am artists myself and what you are wanting to finish sounds great! I need more color myself as well as flowers. I think this spring I will plant more flowers and maybe even make a small garden place with a tractor tire or something to keep them in so they are not getting mowed over with the lawn mower this summer. emoticon
