Day 878

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

I had a good day today, despite the fact that Winter still has us in a tight grip. It was blowing snow on our morning walk, and the sidewalk plows hadn't been out yet. I was going to go for another long walk after my blood work, but the combination of unplowed sidewalks and hunger sent me home after just a short walk. Boy was I hungry! I did not make such great choices for lunch as a result. Quick food won out over healthy food. But the last of the Nutty Bars is gone. Now there are no sweets to be had... until I bake some. Even though I skipped that long walk I still tracked over 10 miles of walking today. Plus my morning yoga and afternoon ST.

Tomorrow the nurse comes at 8am, so I will have to be up earlier than usual, then I am going to take my mom grocery shopping. I think mom is getting a little stir crazy, as she has been mostly in the house for the last two months. She is still wobbly when walking, so going out when it has been icy was a no go. Hopefully the thaw starts tomorrow as forecasted. There are things she wants to do in March.

Time to take Cooper out for his last walk of the day, before heading to my neighbor's to watch Am Idol.

Hindsight is 20/20. Grabbing a snack for after the bloodwork would have been the thing to do so you could get a longer walk. Oh well. Do better next time, right?

I hope you and your Mom are able to get out tomorrow. It will be a kindness for her and no one likes being cooped up for too long.
