I had a "snow day" of sorts today. We had 8 inches of snow overnight, and my friend Von who was going to drive me to the clinic today for my oncologist appointment and Zometa infusion, wasn't able to get her car out of the driveway, so she wasn't able to pick me up this morning. There wasn't enough time to arrange for another ride, so I called and rescheduled my appointment for next week.
Of course, this means living with the neck/shoulder pain another week before I can talk to my doctor about it, but since I woke up with a sinus headache that was being stubborn, it worked out just as well to stay home this morning. Rhonda was able to pick me up this afternoon to go grocery shopping, and by then, my headache was starting to go away. It was probably triggered in the first place by the weather system that dumped all the snow on us.
I was feeling very worn out by the time I got back home, but after sitting and resting for about an hour, I started feeling better. I'm glad to have the shopping out of the way for this week. At least it wasn't bitterly cold today, we made it up to 35°F; tomorrow is supposed to be in the upper 20's, then we have rain, possibly freezing rain, coming for Thursday.
I've been on the Afinitor about 2 1/2 weeks now; still no mouth sores, so coating the pill with the marshmallow creme must be working! My chemo nurse told me last week that if you are going to get mouth sores with the Afinitor, it usually happens within the first 2 weeks. I've only been on the Aromasin 6 days so far; it's too soon to tell if I am going to have side effects from that, as the ones caused by that drug usually don't show up until you've been taking it awhile.
