Gonna Keep on Sparkin'

I absolutely love my SparkFriends. What a great inspiration and honest (very REAL) feedback you are to me!



And I love the Spark Teams -- all the teams I joined, even if I don't check in all the time.

When I first signed on to SparkPeople, I became part of the SP Class of September 30 - October 6, 2012 team. There are 7,771 people on that team who signed up that week, and there are still a few of us still checking in from time to time.



I'm on SparkPeople every day (I have missed only 2 days since Oct 2, 2012), but usually I only get onto my team boards once or twice a week, but I try to check in with those original teammates when I can.

I notice that it seems that most of us who are still sticking with it are focused on better health rather than a number on the scale. I know that I'm a few pounds above my lowest Spark weight, and I'm sure that some would consider that a failure. But I celebrate my progress knowing that, by focusing on my over all health, my 61 year old body is moving and groovin' like it hasn't done in years. And my mental and emotional health has improved as well (no doubt largely as a result of my zany SparkFriends)!





And, at least for me, that's what it's all about!

    You never know where you will be or who you will meet that you click just right with. If it hadn't been for SP, I never would have met you, Cathy, and for that I feel blessed. I treasure your Spark friendship and all of the support you have given me. So lets keep on Sparkin!

    Well, I have been in maintenance almost 4 yrs. now. I have learned that it is ALWAYS a good thing when I see things getting out of hand to just get back to basics! Remember that I am worthy of being #1 and taken care of!

    emoticon I have been here since June 2009. I am about 20 pounds above my Goal Weight/Lowest Spark Weight -- BUT, I am consistently Active, eating Healthy most of the time, and I have an Endurance and Energy that I didn't DREAM of in 2009.
emoticon I am definitely a Lifetime Sparker, and I will continue to Spark so that I can continue to take care of Myself and perform Daily Activities without assistance!

    I know you are a WINNER and do not worry about getting down to that 7lbs original weight and I wont worry about my 7lbs either... So what if we have a little bit of baby fat emoticon

    I think you are doing fabulous!

For me, yes of course I want to weigh my goal weight of 108; consistently eat raw food the rest of my life, do a 92 day juice feast at the end of May, do 30 minutes of yoga and walk the mall every day, and do walks outside along the river. However, a thin, fit, raw, kind person isn't all about the program that gets her there. It's about being a better person, not just a better package.

    I started my journey in 2012 and have missed only one day i remember not spinning the will my start page says 10 days decided that you need to spin both wheels but to me the spinning of the wheel is not the important thing. the important thing is I am 36 pounds lighter. No i have not reached my goal but i am going to. I have my spark friends to thank for reminding me to keep going check in with my teams and ask them for support when needed. glad you are enjoying Spark people and glad you are a Spark friend. emoticon

    I originally started back in 2009 (I think) after I had my son. One of the major things I didn't do then was involve myself in the community. My thought was, I gained on my own and I will lose on my own. This was a mistake.

I have recently resigned up with a new attitude and user name. I am way more positive about life in general and work hard on believing in myself. I have also realized that a little support and encouragement goes a long way.

Success isn't about a number, it's about living life to the fullest and being the best you can be and it sounds like you're doing that with dedication (a year and a half of faithful attendance on SP proves that) and a sense of humour that I really enjoy.

    You have a great attitude, Cat -- and I'm glad you are able to recognize how successful you are!
I love the cartoons you posted! lol Both are quite true! lol Just reading your blogs has not only taught me a lot about you but about the Spark Program. I don't think everyone views it in the same way, but you are living proof of just how much Spark changes your life in every aspect! I too, have made it my goal to get healthier overall. I have a lot of weight to lose, but that is just a byproduct of living a healthier life. Did I ever see myself exercising on a daily basis and even enjoying it? NOPE NOPE NOPE! I also believe I actually enjoy food more than I ever did. I appreciate it for it's goodness and the nutrition it provides my body. Occasionally, I have thought to myself "Why didn't find Spark a long time ago?" I believe the answer to that question is that I wasn't ready until now. Even I can't believe the changes in my life as well as the wonderful people I have met through this! I am very grateful for the program and for friends like you!

    I just missed you by a week or 2. I joined Oct. 25, 2012! I, too, am up a little from my lowest spark weight, but that is still 60 down! My goal is to just get back on my healthy eating plan. Life has gotten in the way the last few months and old habits have crept back in. I just have to get back to doing what I know to do!

    Nice Post :) The changes I have made since I have been sparking is to be more positive about my weight loss journey. My goals are mainly the same.
