Move It

The world is constantly moving , changing shape, evolving. Lava flows make some countries bigger by inches. Wave erosion make other countries smaller by inches. Borders change , there are mass exoduses due to drought or violence.

Thousands of years ago our ancestors were born to hunt and gather, and have offspring. There lives were constant movement and struggle.

In the 1900's people worked on farms from sun up to sun down in constant movement.

Even our own parents worked much harder than us . We are ultra lazy . We have two many gadgets to make our lives easier. To make us more sedentary .We sit or lay for hours watching television. Or we spend hours in front of the flat screen getting info and playing games .

Let's change this and get moving. The recommendation is 30 minutes of exercise a day. But if you are an office worker who sits all day , you need far more than that. Sitting more than two hours is extremely bad for your circulation and your overall health.

So be part of the world get moving. Get up, move around . Do it a lot. Teach your children and their friends to play the old games the old way. Tag, red rover, hopscotch , double dutch to name a few . Organize a kickball game with the neighborhood kids. Teaching your offspring to move is the best gift you can give them. Hugs ,happiness and healthy living

    My Fitbit is my biggest motivator. I have upped my step level to 13,000 for it to go off. I want to have that done by mid afternoon. Then everything else is a bonus!

    This is sooo true!
    And, I unfortunately am an administrative assistant... which, of course, means I have an 8 hour a day desk job... sitting probably 2/3 of the day!!
    I do take a 35 minute fast walk on my lunch,
    I, also, walk to the post office and bank on my job - almost daily,

    Great advice! I am so lucky my GC love to run and play outside and their parents restrict the amount of time they play video games. There is so much for them to do outside.

    I hate seeing kids stuck on computers, in my day we were out after school til we were called in for bedtime. How times have changed ,no wonder there is an obesity problem!
