Some cool things happened this weekend. I had the privilege to do some service work Sunday. A girl I know from the meetings, who has a toddler and little baby and no car, needed a ride to the Greyhound station to take a bus up to Flagstaff for her grandmas funeral. My daughter loves getting to hold this baby, so she was so happy when the baby let her hold him for close to an hour. We drove her there, then waited with her for about an hour til they started boarding the bus, just so we could help her get her bags and kids on the bus. Not what I love to do, hanging out at the Phoenix Greyhound station, but glad to be able to be of service. Had to miss the meeting for it, but service work is just as good as a meeting.
Later on, I found some time to browse FB, something I loathe, but now that I have a iphone I downloaded the app and found it less painful. I commented on an old friends post, someone I hadn’t talked to in over a year. She wrote back and, what do you know, met her and her kids at the park a couple hours later. Maybe its time for me to stop hating on FB. Ironically, an even older friend, who moved out of state but I talked to in the last 6 months, was posting she was in the process of canceling her FB account. So I was able to reconfirm all my contact info with her so we can stay in touch the old fashioned way. Coincidence? The universe is rarely so lazy.
Then, oh oh oh, The Walking Dead! Last week was bomb, unbelievably this week was even MORE BOMB! Once again, up’d the ante. WTG TWD! I literally started crying when I saw Carol. Just writing about it gives me goose bumps. I was so scared for those girls. I was also so scared for Maggie, that it WAS Glenn on the bus, but her cry showed a bit of relief so I held out hope. And the sign offering ‘sanctuary’? Be wary. Reminds me too much of Woodbury. Except more sinister. Things are going to get good!
Been doing a Cross-Fit Style Cardio x2 this weekend. Pretty challenging, but not so much that I dread it. Im going to try to do it every day. I may someday be more like the CF girls on here I admire so much (you know who you are ;) I make myself get though another set of pushups by thinking about Ben. Yeah, whatever works! So another accomplishment, capped my minutes goal for the week! BOOM!
Also last night watched the BAFTAS on BBC America. I was hoping to see Ben, as 12 Years a Slave was nominated for just about every category. Sadly, he was not there but was recognized by name by the winner of the best actor award, Chiwetel Ejiofor. All in all, worth my time. I NEVER watch award shows, but suddenly Im interested. The grand highlight tho was Dame Helen Mirren receiving the Fellowship award from Prince William himself.
Oddly, I am marking my calendar to watch the Oscars. I have NEVER watched the Oscars on purpose, on my own volition as far as I know. Yeah, I have fallen hard. But it feels so good!
Sorry for the weekend recap again, these get ridiculously long.
