So, I stopped running altogether...

Monday, February 17, 2014

...and gained 49 pounds.

To be fair, I also stopped eating right, drinking water, all those things, and generally became a writer sloth.

I suppose it could have been worse. I could've gained 50!

So, I'm back on this s#it.
I will walk until I can run again.
I will eat the way I'm supposed to.
I will try doing other stuff, other exercise, too.
But I'm going to try and follow the same plan I did in 2012.

It's the winters that kill me, man. I GOTTA find some kind of exercise I can do indoors, in the winter...any suggestions for indoor cardio that won't require me to effing /grapevine/?

    Power yoga!
And other kinds of yoga. Kundalini can be pretty fun - kinda gotta ignore the uber-yoga-hippy-snake-in-my-spine talk but it's fun. If you have Gaiam TV, check out Gurmukh.
Mandi Ingber's Yogalosophy is good. Her mantra is: "I have a great ass."

Do you have someone who can workout with you. Having accountability helps a great deal in not going back to the same habits especially in the winter. i thought i had it under control until i hit winter, and 1 workout missed turned to 2 the next week and next thing you know 30lbs in the hole. I have a workout buddy now and we both make sure we are there for our workouts with no excuses.

Going out of my damn mind, apparently, Lulu!

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I wish I could find some indoor sport or something, but dancing is always an alternative (not that I feel like dancing, particularly, at 5:30am, but maybe even the **time** I work out should change with the season?)

I dunno. I've got six months to worry about it. But thank you all, for your advice, I will definitely be looking into your suggestions!

The only workout DVD that I can stand is the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It is also the only workout DVD that I own (Target, 10 bucks). I'm sure you've heard of it. I like it because she doesn't prance around or try to look cute and the workouts are tough, but short. Each one is only 20 minutes (you can do anything for 20 minutes, right?) but at the end of it, you feel like you've done something.

I saw an add for Netflix that they offer a special channel that has different workout videos. I am going to give the free trial a shot.

My husband also likes the Insanity workout. I haven't tried that yet, it is all video and you do not need a lot of equipment.

Good luck!

You're back!!! I was wondering where you were!!!!

Bollywood dance videos. Pogoing around your house to the Sex Pistols. Leslie Sansome walking videos. (She's got a horrible voice, but I mute her and put her in the corner of the screen while I watch True Detectives and just march along with her.
