Ok, so it wasn't lime green, but it is darling! She would never have specifically looked for this color, but said that it wasn't worth $2000 to get a green one. When she saw this in person, she fell in love with it! The green Spark that she looked at yesterday was $14995 and the dealer would not budge on price.
And this little girl did mumma proud! She told the salesman what she was willing to pay. He said he couldn't go that low, so she said, "thanks anyway! I have a truck that I love. If you decide that you can meet my price of $11,000, leave a message on my voicemail. I will be at church and will check my messages after church." 15 minutes her phone rang and he said that he would meet her price.
After church we headed down for the 2 hours drive to Medford to get the car. 45 minutes from the dealership, we got a call from another dealer 1 hour north of our home town who said that they could make the deal $10,500. I told her to make no commitment. When she hung up I said that she needed to keep both offers open and use that bid as leverage if she liked this car that we were going to see.
While she was on the test drive I called the north dealer who denied the $10,500 and said they could only go $11,500. As Molly and the salesman headed back into the building, I heard her say, "Well, I really like my truck, so all is good". He went to the back of the building and she came over to the desk. "Didn't you like it?" I asked. "I *love* it!" she replied. He came back and said, "Ok, I got you lifetime oil changes included for no charge".
She ended up getting the car for $10,600 and free oil changes for life, plus the car was filled with gas before driving off the lot.
