Saturday, went shopping, that can be dangerous to a good diet.

Sunday, February 16, 2014

My son had a birthday party to attend at one of those big trampoline places where you can also play dodgeball. He amazingly came home unscathed, for someone who manages to hurt himself walking, I'm glad he didn't injure himself while he was there. I didn't have to bring him, his father did that task. I'm glad it didn't snow more than a dusting while they were out.

I had my regular breakfast, still the triple berry blend. I finally got my antioxidant blend later in the day.

Realizing the boys weren't going to get home before lunch, I made myself a little something, it probably had more cheese than normal, I used up a bunch of the ends of packages in this one. My daughter, who was home with me, made herself a sandwich.

They finally got home, then my husband reminded me he had an eye appointment at Target so I said, we'll go with! I had a little snack before we went because I knew we'd be out later than we normally have dinner and I can't go that long between eating.

Since it was the day after Valentine's Day, the candy was on sale. It was only 30% off, but that was good enough for me while I was out with a pesky migraine that started the night before (they get just bad enough for me to feel icky, at this point the pain had left my head but nausea was still there, I was slightly grumpy). I got the really big box of the good chocolates, it was half as tall as one of my kids, the 14 oz box. My husband also got a box of Turtles.

I was waiting for dinner to finish cooking, so I had one of the chocolates.

Dinner was mini egg bakes. I make them in cupcake tins so we can individualize them for each person. I had spinach in mine while the boys had broccoli and my daughter had corn. There was ham in my husband's and daughter's and all of them had hash browns. It would have been a better idea to have thawed or heated the veggies, I tossed them in frozen and they didn't cook as well as they normally would, but once again, I had a migraine and I don't think right when my head hurts.

I had a few more chocolates because they were good. I got to have my pick of the box and because they were the better quality ones from the store, I don't need as many at a time (although I could easily eat a whole box of them in a sitting if I'm in the right mood, but these pictures are keeping me more in line).

It's dangerous to be shopping the day after a candy holiday. I did well at not getting a bunch of bags of candies and giving into wanting tons of candy. One big (alright, HUGE) box will do me well for the week, then I'll be done with it.

I can identify. Right now I'm giving in to some chocolate, with the intention that once it's gone I won't bring any more into the house.

I have a hard time resisting chocolate so I can really relate. If I bought a big box I would probably have it gone in 1 or 2 days! My new craze is Kimberly's iced chocolate cupcakes at Walmart. I bought 4 in a box because they are cheaper that way but ate 2 in one day. Now I allow myself to buy only one at a time for a special treat but not every day. emoticon

We're only human but emoticon
