I AM TIRED OF HEARING THAT I HAVE WILL POWER

Sunday, February 16, 2014

I SPENT THE FIRST 43 YEARS OF MY LIFE BEMOANING MY LIFE SITUATION AND BLAMING OTHERS. IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT I WAS MORBIDLY OBESE. I WAS THE ONE THAT ATE FOR COMFORT. I ATE FOR COMFORT BECAUSE I WAS TOO LAZY OR TOO UNMOTIVATED TO CHANGE. CHANGING A LIFETIME OF BAD HABITS DOES NOT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT. IT HAPPENS THROUGH A HEART AND HEAD CHANGE OF YOUR OWN MAKING. IT DOES NOT TAKE WILL POWER. IT TAKES CHANGE POWER. THE WILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILTY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. IT TAKES PLANNING AND PREPARING AHEAD. IT TAKES PORTION CONTROL. IT TAKES THE ABILITY TO REALLY SEE YOU, WHAT YOU WANT AND THEN DEVISING A PLAN TO GET THERE. OH YES, THAT IS WORK. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT IS WORTH HAVING IS NOT WORTH WORKING FOR.

MY MOTIVATION FOR LOSING WEIGHT WAS TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY MY LIFE AND GRANDCHILDREN. MY ONLY CHILD WAS KILLED IN A CAR WRECK ON HIS WAY TO WORK 2 AND 1/2 YEARS AGO, SO NO GRANDCHILDREN. I AM 64 NOW SO THERE WILL BE NO MORE CHILDREN. I WILL HAVE TO ENJOY THE GRANDCHILDREN OF FRIENDS AND RELATIVES. SO THE ONLY REMAINING REASON TO GET THIN IS TO ENJOY THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH MY SOULMATE AND HUSBAND. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER REASON THAT IS GROWING MORE EACH DAY SINCE MY ANGEL ON EARTH WENT TO HEAVEN. IT IS TO WORK FOR THE LORD ABOVE AS HE HAS GRANTED ME SUCH GRACE SINCE MY SON DIED. HE HAS GIVEN ME THE MINISTRY OF PRAYER FOR OTHERS WHO ARE ILL OR IN STRESS. I AM PRAYING FOR A GUIDE TO A CHURCH HOME.

I AM READING A BOOK CALLED THE DIET ALTERNATIVE, BY DIANE HAMPTON. IT IS BASED ON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPES AND I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL FOR THE STRENGTH OF HIS WORD ON YOUR JOURNEY. YOU NEED IT AS THE SIN OF GLUTTONY IS ONE THE DEVIL LOVES TO IMPOSE ON THE BODY, SO THAT IT WILL BE TOO DISEASED AND TO TIRED FOR THE LORD'S WORK.
Thought for the Day:
We become what we think about. –Earl Nightingale

Scripture to Ponder:
Psalm 16:8--I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

So glad you are feeling God's strength on your journey. I read a devotional this morning that I think you would like. If you want to check it out it speaks of having strength to say no to temptations.

(((((HUGS)))) Oh how life can take twists and turns that surely we would not change. But you're so right. Once we get to the point where we are open to grace, embrace it, make it a part of who we are then we can move on. It's so hard! Not that it's in ANY way the same as losing a cherished child, but I lost my brother 32 yrs. ago . . . on his birthday. It is not ever something you get over, but with His grace, we get through it.

This is just a wonderful blog. Thank you and know you're thought of.

My heart goes out to you in the loss of your cherished son.

I, too, have the calling of prayer warrior --- it is a privilege to go before the throne of our Creator God petitioning on behalf of others.

You hit the proverbial "nail on the head" with your sharing in your first paragraph.

emoticon for the heads up about the book. I shall check with our local library to see if they have it. I like to check there first before investing in books for our home library.

May our Abba Father continue to bless you with His plan for your remaining days on planet Earth!
