worried about my prosthetic

Saturday, February 15, 2014

I found out yesterday that my insurance will not pay for my definitive prosthetic. The new prosthetic will cost about 10000.00. Oh well it is always something.

    Appeal to the insurance company...
Play the lottery.
This totally sucks. Which is really bad because my step-dad had a prosthetic leg too, and where does it go after he passed on? I know everyone is different but would be nice if there was a way to recycle and make whatever tweaks are necessary to make those available to those where the insurance won't cover one!

Maybe open up a Kickstarter Crowd Source fund for it? If 10,000 SparkPeople each donated $1.00, you'd be up and dancing in no time!!

Are there any other agencies that can help you with this? Don't give up yet. Have your doctor write an explanation to the insurance company. God bless. emoticon

Is there any way of getting around this ruling? I hope you are able to get the new prosthetic somehow.

That just totally sucks! I swear some insurance companies go out of their way to figure out what NOT to pay for! I hope you appeal and win! emoticon
