Tracked my meals. [ x ] (Current streak: 6 days)
Stayed within my calories (6 days a week). [ x ] (Current streak: 6 days)
Didn't binge. [ x ] (Current streak: 9 days)
Went for a walk. [ x ] (Current streak: 8 days)
Took the stairs instead of the elevator. [ x ] (Current streak: 6 days)
Today I ate: 1,780 calories
Today I burned: 443 calories
It's already late and I'm off to bed soon, but I just wanted to post my daily checklist before calling it a night.
I gave it some thought (I was already going to write about this yesterday but then I changed my mind) and I decided NOT to expect perfection when it comes to staying within my calorie range every day. My goal, now, is to stay within my calories six days a week. It would be unrealistic (and frankly, unhealthy and a little obsessive) for me to expect to stay within my range every single day. When I lost the first 30 pounds, I usually went over my calories once a week and I still lost the weight steadily and didn't feel deprived. It would be really depressing to have to reset my streak once a week, and it wouldn't help me build momentum.
So, from now on I'll allow myself one day a week when I'm allowed to go over my calories (but obviously that's not an excuse to binge!!!) without breaking my streak. If I go over twice in the same week, that'll break the streak.
I just wanted to make this clear (mostly to myself :D).
