TELIKIN computer made for the elderly-advertised by AARP

Saturday, February 15, 2014

I got this for my husband (stroke in 2006). It was working fine but one day stopped hooking up with the internet. I can't get it hooked up again. I did the first day but can't get it going again.

Today also I had enough energy to try to fix my husbands computer. He can't really think well enough to make good use of it but it makes him feel good even to play games or fiddle around. I could not fix it! I looked for help in a few places and even called their help line. I was on hold for over an hour! The message kept repeating that they suggest paying for their "VIP help." I have a feeling if you don't pay, you get NO HELP at all. It is a computer advertised by AARP for the elderly. It has big pictures and a touch screen and built in Skype and other things. But I can't get it to hook up (again) with our NETGEAR wireless system. I had it going but can't get it going again.

I'm not familiar with it, sorry. My DH and DD's are my computer geeks and DH can pretty much fix anything. Wish you were closer!

I wish I had some help to offer but I am afraid that I can't so instead, I will pray that you can find a way to get it figured out.

If everything else in the house is working with your router, it's the computer. It may need to be reformatted, which is a total pain.

I work with a local "geek" when I can't get one of the PCs to do what I want. Over the years, I've looked over his shoulder enough that I can fix most things. It's been worth the money to call him, since he's been able to keep my PCs going long beyond their life expectancy!!

    Good luck.

Have you had any problems with your computer? I had to call my phone company when my DSL suddenly quit working-it was a problem on their end and not my computer or router at all.

I have never heard of Telikin.
Do you get any errors that you can search Google for?
Have you tried restarting your wireless router, then, after it's up, restart the Telikin?
