The day of love. I did not get any more chocolates (outside of the ones I got from the kids' stashes) from the husband. We don't do much for each other on this day, but I did give the family little boxes of chocolates. My husband appreciated it and told me so. He's frustrated with his workplace and I think we'll end up seeing a change in our life again soon. We need to find a way to move up in society and the place we're in right now is not working out. We've been looking online and with a short bit of schooling, we could double our income potential, we just have to work out how it can happen. I still haven't gotten that call back from the one place I put an application in, and now I'll have to rethink my strategy too.
My triple berry breakfast started the day out, I'll need to go shopping this weekend to get more fruits, I miss my antioxidant blend that Target was out of last week.
For lunch I reheated some of the chicken barley soup I made the other day and had some cottage cheese. The grocery store is finally carrying Daisy brand, which only has 3 ingredients, compared to others that have about a dozen ingredients.
For dinner, I made a tuna noodle casserole. This hot dish had alphabet noodles (the kids love the alphabet noodles); sharp Wisconsin cheddar cheese, plain yogurt, and half and half cream; a can of tuna; and half a bag of frozen broccoli, which I heated while I cooked the noodles so that all I had to do was melt the cheese in the oven.
I asked the kids for some of their chocolate, they got so much candy from their party that I know they wouldn't miss a couple of pieces and they shared with their daddy too.
As I was winding down for the night, I had a couple of handfuls of pistachios. I measure by the handful for most of my snacks, it's easier to do and I know approximately how big my handfuls are.
I've noticed my habits have changed dramatically these last few weeks. I'm forgetting to have a snack in the mid-afternoon, as I get busy cleaning around then. I'm better at cleaning the house in the afternoon (partly because there is no good tv that time of the day) and it causes me to forget that I'm hungry at about 3, making me extra hungry for dinner. I also manage to not get back up for seconds for dinner so I must have a shrinking stomach, causing me to not be as hungry all the time. I guess it's a good thing. I stepped on the scale again and found that another couple of pounds got lost, hopefully this is a good trend, I'm not starving by any means, but I know I could easily be eating a little more and still be losing the weight.
I did manage to get a walk in after I set the kids off on the bus. It was nice when we were standing there waiting and even half-way around the long trail on the park was nice, but then I turned the corner and a breeze started in. By the time I got home, I had frozen legs. It can still be dangerous walking around in these temperatures and I did not have my winter sweats on, which have 2 layers of fabric. I could literally feel my legs freezing and it got tough getting back that last quarter of a walk. Fortunately it was just a mild redness, but that is the start of frostbite and I warm up quickly once I get back in. I'm just glad I didn't stay out longer or I would have really had issues.
I'm looking forward to that 40 they're talking about later this week! Light jacket weather! Woo!
