Self-love and pictures

Good evening, SparkFriends!
I wanted to wish you a very happy Valentine's Day!
I've also given the notion of self-love a lot of thinking lately as I'm trying to replace my food addiction with love, self-acceptance and fun! Loving myself is not easy to me and I've recently found out that I paid too much attention to what others think of me or, even worse, what I think they think of me!
However my SparkFriend Beautiful_Reina has suggested a new mantra for me: 'What others think of me is none of my business', which I've translated into French as it's more meaningful to me: 'Ce que les autres pensent de moi ne me regarde pas.' It's working wonderfully well! It's as if I finally get it that we all live in our own little spheres and I'm sure people are far more interested in THEIR own lives than in my own little one! This is so freeing to me!
And yet... I was talking about this new-found idea to a good friend of mine and she actually wrote me a letter about all she thought about me. Gosh! I thought she'd misunderstood me but that letter is so sweet! Full of qualities I really want to have so it's really amazing that she mirrored who I want to be - somebody definitely worth of my own love. Nice!
And today... I had my yearly appointment with one of my bosses and... she actually made me cry by stating so many nice things about my work and me. Nice again!
Oh well! I think it's high time I gave up hating myself. I never guessed I'd say that one day but... I'm so worthy of my own love!
What about you? Are you struggling to love yourself?
Here are a few pictures from a Parisian bridge full of 'love padlocks':
Food for thought: maybe I should add one 'Nan and Nan forever'... What do you think?
Thanks for reading!
See you soon,
