Those of you who've been following my journey for multiple years might remember those "I have the overnight gig at work" blogs. I have not always responded well to messing with my body's routine sleep schedule. Not sure anybody does this well... but those who have to deal with it on a regular basis, learn the skills.
Me? It is one to three times in a year. It is not a long-term thing, it's a one weekend thing. I try to come home early, but don't always succeed in that goal, to take a nap before the fun begins shortly after midnight.
This is work I can do in my own home, but if connectivity fails, as it did the FIRST time I had this task before me, I could have to drive in.
Mental toughness prevails, but it's almost automatic in the actual overnight, because of the fasting requirement before the thyroid med. Water only - not even coffee - thus, the nap. When the appropriate hour arrives, the medication, then wait another hour before normal breakfast prep.
Oh, does it matter that today is Valentine's Day? Not to me. So, I will follow the modified plan, not give myself too hard a time if I adjust the training schedule a smidgeon, and Spark on.
Because... LIFE is GOOD. Even better when I'm fit and taking care of business. Consistency does NOT mean rigidity. Consciousness DOES mean mindfulness. Creativity involves planning. And as always, Gratitude is the Attitude that wins!
Have a great Friday, Happy Valentine's Day to all, however your observe it or not! And Spark on!
