I found out today that The Color Run is (hopefully!) coming to MY town!
Now, I've never done a 5k, though I have hiked that far on numerous occasions. When you think about it, 3 miles isn't really that far.
Except, I don't want to walk this sucker. I want to jog. And at the very least some combination of the two.
So I made my way to SP's 5k training plans, and I chose the walk/jog option and just a little while ago, I attempted day 1 to see where I stand.
Walk 4 min. Jog 1min x5.
I managed to do it twice, and finished out the 25 minutes with just walking. Clearly I have a long way to go. And just over 2 months to do it. Probably not enough time, but certainly enough to make some progress, which is just fine by me.
I haven't been truly active since my car accident in 2011. It's time to get this ol' body rust free and running smooth!
