I'll admit I don't read my blogs one they are published. Well at least not to very often. Rest assured I read your insights and responses to my blogs and when I have some time I even respond, which btw, I feel guilty about not doing on a regular basis. I mean what if you hate me?That's not the point today. (Not sure how I ended up in that ditch.)
I read my last blog posting earlier this morning and to my surprise I noticed there was a hyperlink inserted by the word "health" Clicking on it a box popped open advertising "low cost health insurance." My brow furrowed a bit. That hyperlink implies I endorse that company and its product. I do not. I don't make it a practice or a habit of endorsing any product or company. I didn't even know it was there.
I got a bit angry. A few months ago I received a very nice but firm Spark Mail from the powers that be reminding me I couldn't advertise here. It was a innocent error on my part. I talked about a program I'd offered. I edited the blog and issued a statement the next day apologizing. The error wasn't intentional and all that good stuff. I agree with Sparks policy. I'm here to learn and grow and get healthy. I'm not here to wade through infomercials. So, my blood pressure began to rise when I saw they were allowing people to use me, my blogs and my Spark presence to advertise products I knew nor cared anything about. I understand that it's difficult to maintain this sight for free. And I accept all the advertising on the side bars as a necessary evil.
While I'm at it I'd like to clear something up with the person who suggested the reason I get adds for 20 something year old women is because I surf those sights. Well, and ya know who ya are, I did some research into that phenomenon because I do have a lot of integrity and I don't go trolling for women of any age. I listen to Pandora Radio when I'm working and writing. I use the free version and my research took me from link, to link, to link to Pandora, whose free wall paper advertises women in my area that want me. Can you say "cookie." Lemme repeat "cookie" not "creeper."
Gosh I'm in a mood today.
But seriously, that add placed without my permission or even my knowledge set me off. Yeah, it's their right, blah, blah, blah, but it's my obligation to inform you that I don't endorse any of those things and if you click on them or buy them or whatever you do so at your own peril.
My alternative would be to stop writing blogs but I enjoy writing too much and I love you. There, I don't feel better, but at least you know and hopefully understand
