Week Seven: Frustrated.

Thursday, February 13, 2014

I felt wonderful today. I took it easy in the morning. I felt so positive about how I was feeling. I went to my Chiropractor appointment and we talked about what my workmanís comp entailed. I am put on no work this week but she recommends light duty, however itís up to the principal to allow it or not. In my classroom we have to deal with a lot of physical behaviors. It is extreme autism, behavior issues, and the extremely medically fragile children. I thought theyíd find a position for me until I heal up to at least 80% better. Iím not looking for 100% just 80%. I looked at my schedule tonight and saw they removed me for the rest of the month. Iím very frustrated by this because it shows they are not going to give me light duty. Iím very bummed out by this because I was hoping to be at work soon, now I have the entire month off and Iím worried about money. I know they will pay for it but still it involves a bunch of paperwork and delays.

I have to look at this like a chance to have time to heal. This means I can do light exercise in the water. Also, the chiropractor suggested I go to another profession since this one I keep getting hurt. This is the third L&I case this school year. This is the third professional to say so, my doctor said it, the physical therapist said it, and now the chiropractor. I canít ignore it any more. Itís difficult because this is what I went to college for. I have degrees in education. I have major thinking to do.

At the chiropractor she did a lot of big adjustments. It hurt. I told her I felt so good and everywhere she pokes and touches me it hurts, sharp pain. I felt like my body was healing quickly but today shown me isnít done and I have a long way to go. I went to massage afterwards and I have a lot of bothersome areas. I left feeling good but then a hour later my back was on fire. It hasnít stopped. Itís to the point my stomach is upset.

Tomorrow is balance and stability class. If I donít feel good I will not go. Iím hoping sleep will take the pain away.

Here is my updated challenge information for the week, for the fling into spring Challenge. Week one is done!!! I am switching out the rest day. Sundays are normally my rest day.

Injuries are a huge bummer. I, too, hurt my back this summer and couldn't do all of the things that I needed and wanted to do. I hope that all goes well with your recovery and with thinking through your career and future. Blessings to you.
