Food Relationship

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

I would give myself a 5 on the scale of healthiness when it comes to my relationship with food. I have good intentions to eat healthy but I only do it sometimes. I love grains and dairy products. I don't eat enough fruits & vegetables but I do have a piece of fruit every morning. I'm trying to add at least 1 veggie a day. For Lent I'm going to give up sweets with the ladies of my church small group.

I am the same. My relationship is in the middle. I don't mind eating healthier meals, my problem comes from planning. If I don't have a plan, I end up grabbing something from a restaurant (not healthy choices either) just so I can eat. As of right now, the last meal I ate was yesterday around 10am. I went to sleep for work around 11:30am, woke for night shift at 5pm, came to work at 6:30pm for a 12 hour shift (getting off in about an hour) and all I have eaten is an apple! I didn't want to eat fast food, I didn't plan and cook so I could bring something and this is the cycle I've been on for years. My stomach doesn't even growl, its so use to this. I plan on bringing my meals to work this weekend even if its just a turkey sandwich on wheat bread. Thank you for making me think of what I'm doing and not going through the week blindly (don't know if that's spelled correctly). Your post made me think of my relationship with food again and I needed a refresher. Have a wonderful day.
