Best Laid Plans...

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

We went out for dinner tonight with Siobhan and Will, and had a very pleasant evening.

As we were going to a new restaurant, I spent some time studying their menu and nutritional information online, and planned exactly what I would have. I was especially careful with the sodium count because I have high blood pressure, and try hard to keep my daily sodium intake below 1500 mg. Very hard to do when eating out.

I was proud of myself for planning so carefully, and everything went well until Siobhan called to say, "i hope you don't mind, but we'd like to go to... Instead of ...

When we arrived at the restaurant, I asked if they had a nutritional brochure, but there was none available. I ordered a similar entree, and hoped for the best.

Sometimes the best laid plans... You know the rest.

I think its great that you were prepared...until the restaurant was switched! Thats a shame that they didn't have nutritional info, but I'm proud of you for asking!

Great job planning your meal! And when the restaurant didn't have the nutritional information, you made the best decision you could.

  Hi Gail.........
You Tried!!!!! And if the entree you ordered was similar, chances are the nutritional content was as well. I hope that eventually, all restaurants will be required to post nutritional information.

Yep. It happens to all of us. We gotta do the best we can with what we have.

We're running a marathon called LIFE, and we gotta take it as it comes.

You did very well with planning. I hope you had a great time out, together. We went to Lord Nelson's last night, and I enjoyed seafood linguini, escargot, and a caesars salad, which we shared. I brought home half my entry, for my lunch today. Bob had the rack of lamb. We always do our Valentine's dinner a few days ahead of the crowd. A fabulous and yummy time. emoticon

You had me scared there for a moment... Best Laid Plans... I envisioned a huge disaster... Thankful that it was a meal planned with considerable thought that got lost in the shuffle but because of all that planning your meal was most likely a whole lot more healthy than if you had just gone with the flow from the get-go.

I am so proud of your planning.
Sorry that your exact plan did not work as planned.
But your revised plan was most probably a grand success.
Yea!! Rah, Rah, your team!!

Sure do hope the storm that is racing my way for tomorrow is a totally non-event for you.
You have already had more than your share of Winter's Weather.
Take care, Hugs, A.

You planned ahead and educated yourself, so I know that your meal choice was healthier than if you hadn't. Occasionally we have to go with the flow.

YOu made a healthy choice, emoticon

Proof you are a seasoned sparker emoticon emoticon

It does annoy me though that some restaurants don't consider such brochures! emoticon
