Update On Identity Theft

I called the IRS this morning and was on hold for 40 minutes but finally got to talk to someone. I need to fill out a form and mail it in to the IRS along with a copy of my CA ID card. It's going to take 180 days for them to do their investigation and the man I spoke with said to get my 2013 taxes filed ASAP before the person committing fraud does their return because it will kick back my return.
I called the 3 credit reporting agencies and put a fraud alert on my account that will last 90 days and can renew the alert once the 90 days is up. I like how this is 100% free and helps put my mind at ease some what anyways.
I called my tax accountant and told him what was going on and asked if he had to 2013 tax forms to which he responded yes so I have to go down there today and drop off a packet of papers he had me fill out a month or so ago. He said he can have the taxes done by tomorrow which is great news for me.
I called the CA tax franchise board and told them I found out that someone used my information to file a federal return and wanted to check to see if they used my information to file a CA tax return in 2011 and 2012 which they were able to look up and see that yes a tax return was filed for both years using my information. For that I have to get a copy of the police report, SS card, and CA ID and fax it to the representative that answered my call. Once he receives my papers he will submit it to the fraud department and they will do a full investigation.
I feel better now that I've called all of these places. I hope everything is able to be worked out and resolved. Now time for a walk to calm my nerves down because at this moment I feel like I could scream.
