Motivation Is Just A Friend Away

Monday, February 10, 2014

I had stepped on the scales a day early today just to see how I had done this week. Last week I had reached a major milestone , I had lost 121 pounds. This week I had stepped up my exercise routine, but I had also spent a lot of time sitting at my computer Sparking and the more time I spent on the computer the less time I spent planning and paying attention to when and what food I ate. So when I stepped on the scales I had gained a pound, I was so disappointed. I don't know if I can get that pound off by weigh-in tomorrow, but what I do know is that I need to get some balance back into my day. As I said my disappointment in myself was quite large this morning after all the hard work and exercise long hours I had put in and I was feeling kind of low I saw a notification that I had comments on my page. I went and looked and I saw the following from sparkfriend IMLOCOLINDA:

MOTIVATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

M- MAKE SHORT TERM GOALS
O- OUT WITH THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
T- THINK OF WHY YOU WANT THIS
I- IMAGINE HOW YOU WILL FEEL
V- VISUALIZE HOW YOU WILL LOOK
A- ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SUCCESSES
T- TREAT YOURSELF WITH RESPECT
I- INVESTIGATE NEW IDEAS AND FOODS
O- OBSERVE YOUR HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
N- NEVER GIVE UP AND NEVER GIVE IN

This turned my whole day around and instead of wanting to give in to negative thoughts I started trying to come up with a game plan. You never know the impact you may have when you share your hope with a friend. I sure want to thank mine.

You are amazing! Great self-awareness and GREAT weight removal. You are one of my heroes.

You just hit a small bump in the road, recognized the problem and creatively solved the problem so it probably won't happen in the future.

    Way to go, woman!!!!

It is so hard when that happens and it is great that you have been able to turn it around. We just have to remember that so long as we can keep on track it will turn around again. emoticon emoticon

That's a great MOTIVATION reminder. I know how you feel. I had exercised much more than usual and eaten good (except for 1 piece of BD cake without icing from my granddaughter's 2nd birthday cake). I just knew that I had lost weight. I weighed last week. I had GAINED THREE pounds!!!! I was horrified and got depressed. In fact, on my weigh in I write Hiss/Boo beside the entry. Jill wrote me back saying that hissing and booing wasn't allowed. That snapped me out of my mood. I'm glad you snapped out of your mood.

Never ever give into negative thoughts, you are strong, and if you're not, we're here to support you. If you need anything, just ask, we're here for you.

When we hit a time that we "stumble" we just get ourselves back up and continue on, even stronger than we were before, just to prove to ourselves we can beat this...and we will!

    Have a great day.

emoticon Outstanding post. Friends are everything. They can pull you up or push you down. We so very often are careless with our words and can hurt others without meaning to. Well done to Imlocolinda for reaching out to you as she did. You are a daughter of GOD my dear and never forget it because HE never will. HE is your saviour and friend and protector.
GOD bless you and big hugs too to Imlocolinda for being there for you.lesleyanne. emoticon

Some days it seems so easy for us to get side tracked and then get on that scale as we all do and realize that it's time to get back down to basics. Sometimes we just have to remember that we have to put ourselves first and realize what's important to us - - our health for one. So, instead of getting down on ourselves we need to learn to be forgiving ourselves and start out on a new day. I love that we get a "new day" when that happens. Great blog. Great weight loss!! Keep up the good work.
