Sleep Journal 1.1

I joined the Official Better Sleep Challenge and have to write a sleep journal three times a week. So here is my first entry...

I have now had 4 days in a row of at least 8 hours sleep. It's also been fairly good quality sleep. The small bedside lamp has remained off for these 4 days, and it's made a huge difference.

The phone...well, I've not quite figured that out. See, part of my nighttime ritual is to listen to a book on my phone while falling asleep. And I want to continue to do this. But it means that the phone is there, on my bedside table, ready to distract me. The ringer/buzzer is off, that's not really an issue. My friends and family also know better than to try to reach me in the middle of the night. But the book is still playing at 4am when I wake up to go to the bathroom, and then I want to adjust and go back several chapters to where I left off, and then I get sucked into the story again...

I think I need to learn how to use the sleep timer. I know it must have one. That way I can listen for 30 minutes, fall asleep, and then don't hear it again for the rest of the night. Because I don't think I can live without the nighttime listening.

All of this is better than the old days (last year) when I did not have a cellphone and brought my whole laptop to bed with me! emoticon

    Would it work to listen to music instead? Then you could set it to stop at the end of the playlist.
