Seven Weeks

Monday, February 10, 2014

I have seven weeks until my daughter gets back. That means I have to get this place and my life in order. You see, I am staying in her condo right now. She is pregnant and coming back from Nova Scotia to have this baby. It will be better to put her in the bigger of the bedrooms right now. But that means painting it and getting my collection of junk out of the closet and into the closet in the other bedroom. This should easily be a two-three week project considering I have things to do for my mom and things to get from my mom - like a dresser that should be refinished.

Then there's my taxes and my daughter's takes to be done. I got my paperwork finally together yesterday and put the application on the computer. Now to get started.

And, of course, there are my church responsibilities. I am senior warden, when means I run the vestry meetings, does the work when no one else can't, and is the first person that people come to when there's a problem. I can take care of most of them myself and there are a few god ones that pitch in. But it's the same old people all the time and we're getting tiredl One more year of vestry, a half of year of EYSJ class, a year of Diocesan Counsil and then I can sit back and pick what and if I want to do something.

Then, there's mom, good old Mom. A wonderful person - mostly has her act together, but doesn't really . She just doesn't always remember things, loses things, thinks she can do things that she can' - like shovel show. Her house needs to be gone through. My mother in law is in the same boat - they are moving her out and asked us to come over and get anything we want. I must do that soon or they will take it all. There are things that my girls want and I am determined to get them for them. So, this week will be a busy week as I start on my 7 week adventure. If I'm not sparking much, you know why. But I do think of you every day.

    Always so busy!!!
If you are scarce here on Spark over the next few weeks I will definitely miss you but completely understand! Just please take time to take care of you while taking care of everything else!!!!!!
I hope the organizing and painting go well.
Many churches have that trouble with the same people doing most of the work. It is easy to get burned out. I'll say prayers that fresh faces and church growth so that new people will decide to pitch in so those of you working so hard can get a break.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with your Mom and the situation with your in-laws.

Boy, do you ever have the proverbial "full plate"! Don't worry about cutting back on your sparking - we certainly understand (I certainly do, at the very least)! Take care and be gentle with yourself as you undertake this latest life adventure - and best wishes with your daughter's pregnancy!
