OK....I'M DONE!!!

Sunday, February 09, 2014

I am officially done with this winter...the snow, the cold...I had to go to Lowes and Walmart just to get a safe walk in!
I walked through the garden section at Lowes and bought Dill and cilantro (organic seeds)
at Walmart, I bought the starter pots and starter soil...the cashier said I must be hoping for warmer weather, while the guy behind me was buying a snow shovel..
I went online and bought some heirloom seeds and organic seeds...and...ordered a few seed catalogs
Yup...enough is enough....as I look outside and watch the snow fall....I'm done!
come on spring!!!

I have started tomato, peppers, herbs, flowers. Some have already sprouted! I rent too. I would though, love to have seeds for trees and shrubs, but I cannot find any! Maybe one day. It's cold here in Windsor Ontario/Detroit, Michigan area. I'm ready for spring but I have a feeling I will see a white Easter weekend.

Super blog and a wonderful attitude!!! I have to agree with you. I am so done with winter for this year and so glad that spring is on its way!!!
You blog definitely has me thinking about my garden. Can't wait to get some fresh vegetables from it!
We continue to have snow falling here. This week the warmest temperatures are all going to be below freezing. Hopefully after that we will at least warm up to above 32 degrees. Today we did have lots of beautiful sunshine!!! That was AWESOME!!!
Thank you for your positive attitude and you terrific pictures!
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Territorrial seed company is the best for heirloom seeds. Sadly, we have had little rainfall and there is no snowpack in the mountains so a good growing season is doubtful. Add to that that we will be away for the month of May and there will be no good garden for me this year!

I'll have to send you some sunshine from Florida. It has finally warmed up and the sun is out after many days of rain. This has been an incredible winter!! I'm so glad I was able to escape Maine. They have had it rough. Eileen emoticon

Agreed here! Even though we just got snow this weekend, and it's only an inch or two, the temp hasn't been above 25 in a month. I hate being cold.

Hopefully we'll be able to get some planter boxes with tax return since we don't have any where to plant in ground since we're renting. Hopefully we'll have better luck than last year. I planted 6 heirloom tomato plants and 3 tomatillos plants last spring, watered and fertilized them faithfully, and they didn't produce any fruit. Lots of blooms though.

Hopefully warmer weather is on it's way soon!

I have to agree with you. Winter has been here long enough, to cold and too much snow.

I like your idea about getting seeds and potting soil. I might have to start planning too.
