Silence the Noise

Sunday, February 09, 2014

" Fill yourself with silence, you will find life, And your body shall flourish upon earth." Amenemope

This world is full of noise. Noise from the media you have to be super skinny to be popular and loved. Noise from the advertisers you have to have the latest and greatest and newest gadget to be really happy. Noise from the people around you ,telling you how you should act a certain way , what political view you should have. Sometimes there is even noise form your family and friends telling you how to act what to think ,what to wear.

Silence the noise. Think of the times you were truly happy and at peace. Holding a baby in your arms for the first time. Sitting in a quiet church before services started looking at the beautiful stained glass windows and the cross. Laying quietly in your husbands arms with neither of you talking. Walking in a quiet forest gazing at nature.

Learn to live in silence. It is in our quiet thoughts that we find God and ourselves. Every day sit quietly and breathe and think of what a wonder our bodies are. How they hold us up and get us through the day. Remember that no one is perfect. That it is the little things that make us the happiest, not the latest gadgets.

Learn to silence the negative noise in your life. If you have to shut off the news, block some negative friends calls, learn to be at peace. Become familiar with who you really are not someone everyone else wants you to be. Live in the moment and make it the best moment you can.

Learn to eat, and cook and eat as healthy and simply as you can . The least amount of ingredients is the best. Don't watch ads for the newest boxed or bagged item , you don't need that. You don't need the latest bottled water when you can go to your sink turn your tap on and then add a little fruit for flavoring.

Learn to silence your critics. You are special, You are unique ,and you are deserving of love. You are just as important as anyone else. Learn to stand up for your ideas .

You can silence your negative thoughts with some very loud , positively lovely music .Silence the negative with a roar if you have to. Just learn to live in and love Silence. Your body and soul will thank you for it. Silence makes us healthy. Hugs, love, and healthy living.

Just thinking about some of the very peaceful things you mentioned put a smile on my face. Those are the wonderful things in life sometimes, they are simple and pure and peaceful. The outer ring of the grocery store really is the best place to shop. The produce first and foremost where my cart is 1/2 full by the time I get to the next section. Good meat and lot's of good dairy are next.
Eating healthy is a huge part of feeling great and finding peace!
Thanks for the words of wisdom!
Happy Sunday.

Great blog to share, I find comfort in silence, even though it may be hard to find with two kids always

Amen to this! So well put.
Our "self talk" can really make us or break us.
Here's to a wonderful, silent Sunday.
