Hi ya'll, the past few days have been busy so I took time off of the blog but I'm cool now. Friday I had 20K+ steps so I took it easy yesterday somewhat in terms of walking. It was a good idea because I was fairly sore. I did stretching and yoga so I felt better. After I have breakfast this morning I think I will go walking and probably walk over to the park again since its so early.

At 10am the SO and 2 young ones will head to church and brunch so I'll use that as my exercise time. I've done a fair amount of housework for a few days so I won't need to do so much for a few days thankfully. I've caught up on my magazine reading, almost finished reading "Redemption" which is good because my 2 library books are due in the next few days here. I miss the days being younger and able to totally devour books. I'm a fast reader but these days I try to read and its an interruption unless its late in the evening or overnight. "kayah, can you help me do this or that?" is usually the first words out of anyone's mouth including the SO. Its nice to be needed just not all of the time! Little girl needs help with Math sometimes and she likes to read and write with me. She says her mom isn't exactly the scholarly type. The SO needs help with his needs and then I have less time for myself than I would like. Tis Life!

My brother the other day went to get his results & they need to do another test and then he'll see his oncologist so nothing definitive yet. I don't recommend getting ill in this state, the healthcare is as bad as the education system. The 2 young ones go to private school, can you say fairly expensive but its worth it. Both the young ones do very well in school except for Math for lil girl and Science for the older one. Those 2 are their tricky subjects so the SO and I are brought into duty when necessary.

I made my 70,000 steps for last week which made me laugh because I took a fair amount of time off the past 2 weeks, but I made sure I was going to get in the minimum. I did the one day last week of cardio videos, stretching, yoga and strength training. I felt pretty energetic that day no doubt about it. I don't know how I was so full of energy since last week the insomnia was pretty bad but its over now, hooray. I have some days off is why I have been sleeping at night and its felt pretty good. Its fairly cold at night but I have two heaters. Its almost too warm at points but I'd rather be warm than cold right now. That will reverse in a few months when its 100 degrees and over!

Yesterday I did some marketing (you know grocery shopping) anyhow, I purchased fruit, some vegetables, yoghurt, some different nuts and trail mix items so I could make my own. Most types are too icky for me so I make my own. If I never measure anything I measure trail mix portions since the fat, sodium and calories can blow you out of the water for the day. I've been increasing my (what counts for) dairy portions a little. Yoghurt, soy milk, eggs, cheese. I've introduced some lentils into my diet and making sure I have enough fiber going on. I take my vitamins every day and scaling back the pizza some. Once or twice a month is enough instead of the every week thing going on again, sigh. I do have salad with the pizza though so that's a plus and I rarely ever eat dessert or sweets. I went shopping with the SO and he remarked that I really didn't like fruit so much, you win Paolo for being observant.

I can drink my fruit a lot of times better than eating it. I like apples, oranges, strawberry, peaches, pineapple, added lemon and lime but everything else I have to drink the fruit. I buy those fruits fresh and throw them into my Ninja Blender just about every other day and I get in a bunch of fruit that way. I put banana into bread sometimes and I love vegetables so there isn't any issue there. I'm doing well with liquids (water) but I had half a root beer yesterday to settle my stomach some. Its the best way for me. I should of had Ginger Ale but my brain said you rarely drink soda so have the freekin root beer, lol.

I need breakfast pretty quick here so I'm signing out for now, Happy Sunday watching the Olympics, golf or working out or whatever it is you do~

    It must be frustrating for your brother that further testing is needed, but I hoping for the best for him.
