A much needed day of relaxation

Sunday, February 09, 2014

Started yesterday off with my first 5K of 2014, and I wasn't even worried about my time. I neglected my running for quite some time and now just trying to get back into it for one reason...I love to run!!! Which was a good thing, the course was beautiful, it was through a residential area surrounded my pines, winding roads and full of rolling hills and houses to absolutely die for. I did have to walk a couple of times, but only for a driveway or two then I was back to running. My finishing time 34:54. And I couldn't be happier!!!

The rest of the day was amazing too. My BF and I drove out to the Outer Bank of NC. It was amazing!!! I had never seen the ocean before, and while it could have been warmer it was absolutely breathtaking. I even got to see dolphins jump in the intercoastal waters in the Roanoke Sound. I just wish I could have gotten some pictures, we were driving on the bridge and there was no where to pull off. But I was promised a dolphin watching tour as soon as it warms up a little more. We also stopped and walked on the beach and collected shells, but again it will be a lot more fun when it warms up a bit. Figure we will go back in April before it gets real busy.

Now time for some pictures.
