I haven't blogged in a while. Things are starting to move forward. I finally have health insurance and I just got the letter of referral in the mail today for a neurologist which just happens to be the same one I saw right after having my stroke in 2009. I am still having my numbness and weakness attacks about 3 times a week and they last for hours. I just take a nap when I have them as I am unable to do anything. It is an adventure just getting to the bed to take the nap. After my attack has passed I have very dizzy. I have been prescribed both meclizine and diazepam for the dizziness. The diazepam I am to take with the really bad dizzy spells.

I am going to a therapist twice a month to work on mentally getting a hold on this as it is taking a toll. I will also be seeing a psychiatrist once a month. I have made then aware that I don't know how I will be feeling day to day so I will more than likely miss appointments as long as I call I will be fine if I have to miss an appointment.

I have a lawyer and have filed an appeal on my disability claim.

I am an empty nester now my youngest son moved out last month. Shadow is confused as to the kids moving out on their own. He has been even closer to my side now as maybe he thinks when I leave I won't come back.

My weight has been holding steady which is good that I am not gaining but I really need to get back to losing it.

I am debating being on the committee this year for our local Relay For Life as the Online and Facebook Chairs. So far I have committed but it is early enough to back out as out relay is in September. My therapist thinks that I should stick with it and talk to the other committee members and say that I might need help from time to time. I picked the easier 2 chairs to do this year so it might not be so bad. There was no way with my health issues that I was going to do Food Chair again. We have out 2nd committee meeting of the year on the 11th.

I am getting over a headache that I have had since Tuesday, it turned severe yesterday enough for me to make a trip to the ER. They ran blood work and did a CT scan of my brain and everything came back normal. I was prescribed vicodin to take for it. The headache finally stopped a couple of hours ago, so I am up late enjoying not having a headache :)

You have had a lot on your plate lately and you seem to be handling it great. I'm sorry you had to fight with a headache - I had one last week for a few days, so I know how it feels. It's always good to have something to do, but I remember how much work you did last year on the Relay for Life. I'm tempted to tell you to sit back, let someone else lead and just help out when you can. I wish for you the best.
