I wish I had a magic suet cake that made me stay warm until spring!! Vito's thermometer read 10 degrees this morning on my way to work, HOWEVER, the wind chill was -9 degreesF.

IT is to the point that we have to slather moisturizer all over our body parts that are exposed to the air. I could not get warm last night, so showered and warmed up slightly, but finally I doubled very thick afghan and covered up wit hit in my chair.. Within minutes I was out for the count for 1 1/2 hours. DD woke my up to go to bed and I fell into bed and she said she thought I fell on the floor asleep, I started snoring so quickly!! LOL! I do not even remember covering up or anything.. I slept like the dead until my boss called me early and asked me to please come in early.. I was snuggled up in my fleece nightgown, covered with flannel sheets, a flannel blanket, a fleece blanket, and a quilt. NIRVANA!! Since we keep the temp at 55 degrees at night, I did not want to climb out of my cocoon..
Since she does not pay me for sleeping, I did, however, and the above temps are what greeted me outdoors!!

After I got home from work, DD and I made the trek to dad's house to check the mail.. then off to shop for mom's new night's,, found some for her,, got little things like a battery for my garage door opener, nightlight bulbs, an oven light bulb, etc..

I do not want to go outside again until I have to go to work Monday morning..

I always heat my rice. bags and sleep in my recliner when I cannot go back to sleep. It never takes long because my ticking non-Electric clock is a sound from the past. I love to listen to a ticking clock, I concentrate and I am off in no time.
I am not an early riser like you but 6 to 7 am is when I like to be up.
Today we have 34 degrees and I walked two miles in our new hospital car parks it was great. No dogs, no bikes and no strollers. I walked alone for 2 miles and it was a nice fast pace. Great find!. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon Stay warm. Pat emoticon to both of you. emoticon

I hear you, it was 16 here this AM. Don't know what the wind chill was. Thank Goodness, I did not have to get out. I do know that my electric bill for this month doubled. Wow! This is one of the worst winters, ever. Stay warm and have a good weekend. Hugs, Judi

Part of the reason the cats are so anxious to come to bed with us is my fleece throw. I can't turn on the electric blanket as they are not recommended for diabetics (circulation and burns I think?) so he sleeps under it without a controller connected.

Our bedroom gets pretty warm, it's our drafty living room that gets us, hence the plastic on the living room windows. I can't wait for Spring to take the plastic off so I can wash windows again!

Hang in there, the worst is almost over!
