Mixed flock...

Thursday, February 06, 2014

Before, during and after our recent snowfall, I watched the winter birds foraging for food against the coming frigid nights. Titmice in the midday sun of Tuesday Chickadees are always gathering! They are too quick for a pic! On Wednesday the snow began and the birds flocked in to prepare. The jay and the red squirrel are exchanging pleasantrires!
Today, with the storm ended the cardinals came in. to check out the new cache!

    Fantastic photos!

In addition to the winter birds, we also watched flocks of robins foraging on the bare ground Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Obviously, they have disappeared after all the snow!

How great! You must have been feeding for a while to have such awesome birds

Several years ago, when we first moved to our home, there were painted ducks in the trees. The birds are so cheerful!

Much success to you!

I love to be in Iowa during the winter, my sister always feeds the birds and has so many different kinds, and the cardinal is my very favorite. Thanks for the pictures.
