Feb 6, getting back on track

Thursday, February 06, 2014

I know I know I just blogged yesterday but I want to blog a bit more upbeat today and get myself right back on track!

I had a bad weekend/week so far and my weigh in wasn't great, but I know if I get right back on the ball I'll have a good weigh in next week!

I find when I'm in pain (which I still am a bit but not letting it derail me anymore!) I tend to eat. I'm also stressed about this job. It's a potential good stress but a stress non the less. It's an exciting opportunity and a great company! But it's longer hours and more traveling everyday. So I'm having a hard time deciding what's best for me and my family. I know I don't have to make a decision until they make me an offer (which is still a maybe right now anyways) But it's a huge life changing decision and I'm nervous!! So that sparks bad eating, mindless eating. NO MORE!! I've got this! I can handle life and still eat right!!

This morning, greek yogurt and banana for breakfast

I made this awesome salad! chickpea, cucumber, tomatoe, red onion, feta and some olive oil, herbs, balsamic vinegar! YUM!

Also back to drinking green tea with honey!

and packed a couple healthy snacks!!

I find planning is key for me! If I plan and pack then I'm good!! If I don't I eat whatever I can buy/grab and it's not good!

Tonight I have some haddock that I will bake for supper in some lemon/herbs and garlic, and boil 1/2 a sweet potato and some edemamme for dinner! :) YUM!!

Oh and also lots of water!! The key to avoiding more kidney stones is lots and lots of water!

Oh no, kidney stones....oh so sorry! You food is VERY low cal ! Great choices. "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail"! This is key and so true for me! Great job packing your snacks! If I get low blood sugar, I am in danger of just grabbing something! I have to eat on schedule to keep my blood sugar stable. I always need some protein post workout because I do Zumba or HIT for one hour. In an emergency, these protein snacks satiate....20 raw almonds, a protein shake or greek yogurt and 1 Tbsp. of peanut butter with honey. I also like bananas or hard boiled eggs.

I can see why your potential job offer makes you nervous! Will you have time to exercise with the extra travel and hours? What about grocery shopping, cooking and packing lunches? Enough family time and rest time? I would make a pretend schedule with your new job to see whether you would feel comfortable with the increased work load. Then maybe you could feel more in control about what you are facing if you have to make a decision?

Best of luck losing weight this week , your kidney stones going away and not stressing!

    Great blog! Great attitude!!!
I really, deeply understand, because I do the exact same thing. Recently, things have been pretty rough. Without getting into detail, basically, things - a lot of things - were out of my control and were out of control. You know? That's my oldest trigger and strongest one too. When things are crazy and I can't do anything about it, I turn to food for numbing. Preferably meat, cheese, and sugar. Ugh.

Needless to say, I put back on some of the weight I'd lost, but, like you, I'm not letting this get me down and I know that if I start making healthy choices now, I'll see the results soon enough...maybe by my next weigh in.

You so have this. And I am so stealing that great salad idea. Yum!
