Yesterday and today I decided to start toning a little more. We have some free weights, and a weight machine, so I started using those again. I have a couple of short routines worked out, and they only take 10 minutes, so I should be able to fit those in on most days. I just have to keep myself convinced that weights are important. It's not that I don't like doing the weights. It's more of just choosing to do those over Zumba or other cardio when I'm short on time.

And today, I am short on time, so I'd better go.

    Great, Chris! I wish I had something more than some dumbbells and resistance bands that I could do quick. Way to shake up that routine and keep your streak alive!

    I think one of the reasons I like weights BETTER than cardio is the short amount of time required. You can make noticeable changes with as little as 5 minutes a day of ST, while at 5 minutes you're just finishing your warmup!

    Short on time... ah, yes, we all relate!

Congratulations on your dedication! I recently enrolled in a personal fitness class at our local college. Since I am on the faculty and over 60, the cost works out to be about $5 a month for unlimited visits to the health center and advice from personal trainers... and it's between the high school where I teach days and home.. but I still only make it a couple times a week.

But.. it feels good. I already was doing lots of cardio, but the muscle toning makes a huge difference in how I feel. Today.... emoticon
