Taking time for self

Bingeing is a symptom I have just come to realize: It is an attempt to do self care when one feels uncared for. Binges are signals that something is wrong & that needs are not being met either physically or emotionally. Binges are a last stand against deprivation.
Before you can take time for yourself in ways other than bingeing, one must believe that they are worth deserving time for themselves.
Today I took a day off of work and did frivolous, self focused activities without thinking of doing for others.
This a a part of my journey of healing.
