Regrets, I've Had a Few (But Not Today)

"Because the only workout you ever regret is the one you skip."

That quote above is from SP Coach today and it is true. Today was a blustery, wintery day (haven't they all been lately?). But it was sunny. My goodness I get so excited when it is sunny out. I can't hardly wait to lace up my hikers and walk home. Today, being a particularly nasty day weather-wise my co-workers were just agog that I was going to still walk home. But I did not waiver and I completed my 4 miles in just slightly over my usual time. I feel fantastic, like I could walk more. Rejuvenated. And I am so happy that I did not skip my workout because, yes, I would have regretted it.

After walking for so long now I find that I have a particular need for it. I feel antsy when trapped inside. I can walk in the basement. I can walk while doing my dishes. I do steps while the TV is on in the livingroom (unless DD is studying, then I get in trouble). Yup, a person can walk anywhere, or no where in particular.

My friend, TaiChiDancer recently got 75,000 steps in a single day. Holy toledo what a feat. I am in awe. That is a lot of steps. The most I ever got was 30,000 and that happened last summer. But I think it is a fantastic thing he did. He set a goal and accomplished it. He did not skip his workout. There are so many people here that inspire me to keep doing what I do. To try harder. Accomplish more. Without PoeDaughter I never would have made it to 20,000 steps that first time. Thank you.
