Dealing with Guilt
Wednesday, February 05, 2014
While I am posting this in part as a reminder to myself, I feel this message needs to get out there.
Guilt is a nasty little bugger that nags at you when you do something wrong or don't do something that you should. It's something I have personally learned that I have an abundance of. I can feel guilty at the drop of a hat and I like to think it's because I am kind, caring, & giving person. When it comes to my health, the guilt voice nagging goes into overdrive. I have learned to ignore it for the most part.
To my fellow sparkers who suffer from the guilty feeling....you HAVE to FORGIVE YOURSELF!
The truth is no one is perfect. Ain't nobody got time for that! There are good and bad days, exercise or no exercise, a cupcake or a binge. But know the difference between a setback and failure. Setbacks will occur because no one is perfect. It's what you do after, how you pick yourself and learn from it that truly matters. It means to learn from your mistakes, whatever they are. Failure is when you just give up on your health, say screw it, and never do anything about it again. That's true failure.
So remember... if you restart then go farther each time. Keep restarting....because means you HAVEN'T given up.
