Oh My Squeaky Shoes
Tuesday, February 04, 2014
It was a cool walk home today. My cheeks were cold but still had fun. Also finished my book that I had loaded on my iPod so I will be starting a new one tomorrow. Loaded it just a bit ago and I've already forgotten the title but it is the next one in the Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Coben. I really like this series and will be sad when I am done with it.
No movie today. DD has class in the evening on Tuesday so I have to stay upstairs and mind the fireplace. Keep those fires burning so the house is toasty. So I walked in place for my final 3,000 steps. Max, the cat, didn't seem to like it very much. My basement shoes squeak, heck they even bug me. Max is laying in a chair sleeping, he opens one eye and gives me a look like "really mom?" I keep walking and squeaking, he sits up and stares at me. Gives me the ole stink eye but I keep walking and flipping thru channels on the TV (nothing but weather, yuck). After a bit Max jumps down from the chair and heads upstairs to a bedroom for some peace and quiet. I'll see him later when he comes back for a snack. Cats are so predictable.
I'm enjoying my evening by myself. DH doesn't get home until 7PM so I have 2 hours alone each week. When I walk in the basement I am alone but DD is upstairs so I'm not technically alone. Tuesdays I am truly alone and I find I like it. The quiet. She and I read a lot in the summer so it is usually quiet and when she is at class it reminds me of that. Summer with a book in my hand, just reading and relaxing. True bliss.
