Day 9: PaleoCon (Chris Kresser, Seth Roberts)

Tuesday, February 04, 2014

Hey, everybody!

PaleoCon organizers and followers alike are geting tired, it seems.... They're not even sending out reminder notices anymore, LOL (and no, you're not crazy... they DO have the day and date wrong on the event heading today)!

I'm juggling this and research project that I need to complete within the next two weeks, so I fell behind today. Sorry to be so late with this (I really hope that you've already signed up and are listening on your own).

If you haven't already, go on over and listen to Chris Kresser. He is an amazing doctor and walks a very respectful line between an Ancestral lifestyle and conventional medicine. I believe he is one of the best at finding the line we should all walk for optimal health and well-being... and he is very understandable.

I'm excited for tomorrow! On the line-up for tomorrow are women's health (Stefani Ruper & Nora Gedgaudas) and Mr. Primal himself, Mark Sisson!

If you are a woman and you have any concerns particular to hormonal health, you don't want to miss hearing these two women speak.

The video that is promised on the schedule has already been aired, so I guess we're also in for a surprise!

As ever, I'm looking to hearing what you think!

I don't even know what to tell you about Dave... he needs to be experienced, I think, LOL! His stuff is really interesting, and I believe there is a lot of merit to it. At the same time, if you're still trying to simply figure out how to stay on track, he's not the guy for you. His style is much more motivational speaker than science geek... but don't kid yourself, he's one smart guy tapped into the best science in the world, and he's finding practical ways to put it into your hands!

Seth Roberts
6 Weird “Hacks” For Better Diet, Sleep, & Brain Function
♦ How to run your own self experiments to dramatically improve your health
♦ How to improve your mood in the morning – and improve your ability to take on the day
♦ The connection & importance of smell and weight loss

Seth Robert's lives in that spot where science, pop culture and health meet. He's a science geek with a knack for getting to the bottom of things that puzzle us about how our bodies function. He pushes the envelope to get results... often in the most creative of ways.

I'm currently playing around with one of his 'weird life hacks'. I have had a lifetime of battling insomnia under my belt. Ancestral eating has dramatically improved things, but I wasn't adverse to some tweaking.

I'm surprised and delighted to say that it's working... for me and my daughter! We're 10 for 10 on a good night's sleep, LOL! Check it out (there are 28 articles in all):

I fall asleep within 20 minutes, I never wake up in the middle of the night (my current greatest problem), I dream in technicolor and great ideas, and I wake up really refreshed. I no longer feel like I need an afternoon nap, my mind feels sharper, and.. truthfully... I think I AM getting stronger, LOL!

Who'd of thunk it!
