Today's wellness challenge for me was to do something to burn an extra 200 calories. That seemed like a lot of calories for extras. In addition these were not to be our regular workout but trying to incorporate them into our regular day. Suggestions were walk to the grocery store instead of ride, add to chores like washing dishes and they even gave us the amount of calories each of these suggestions would burn.
I finally decided
I would find extra things to do inside since it is cold here today. I then decided to do extra cleaning in two bedrooms and a sitting area in our upstairs. This would involve moving furniture and vacuuming in places I don't get to every week.
The sitting area was easy, only 5 pieces to move and dust windowsills and baseboards.
The bedroom was next. OK, so here we gotta
slow down and decide how much can I do. The first thing was to clean my desk , organize books, pictures and other small items. The desk is in front of a window, so more windowsills. Found
's behind books . I think they love any warm place. I found more behind things I had not moved lately. When I vacuumed the floor I decided I just might shampoo the carpet, but, I still had the other bedroom to do and I knew we were talking about some hours here.
Here's where it was gonna get tricky. I decided I needed DH's help. Using my best southern girl charm I timidly asked if he had plans for the day. Lucky for me , he didn't.
With him taking over in the other bedroom and me shampooing the bedroom and the stairs we were able to get the job done around 1:00. I am pretty sure I met the challenge, if sweat counts for burning calories.
