Feb 4th-Day 36 of 10min of exercise per day

Tuesday, February 04, 2014

As I'm sitting here watch it snow, I thought I'd post about my last two days which have been very active.

Superbowl Sunday: I had to work on Sunday, but it was a little slow. I didn't have a tech, so I worked alone and had a chance to do two Spark Videos at work. I did the low impact cardio one and one of the kick boxing ones. When I got home, Hubby wanted to go for a walk. I jumped all over that opportunity, although the roads were still a little icey in patches from a recent snow. Because of that, we only went one mile. It was nice to be out in the sun even though it was a little chilly. After that was the Super Bowl. I played the Super Bowl exercise game posted on Spark People. Two of my kids kind of did it along with me. I new I was in trouble when the game started off with a safety and 20 push-ups. I did the modified kind, and had to sub some regular crunches for burpees. My body still hurts from all the bicycle crunches and modified push ups.

Monday: My oldest daughter, Mary, got her braces off. This required two orthodontist appointments throughout the day, so we stayed in Omaha the whole day shopping! It's been a while since I went shopping only with Mary. We had a blast! I brought my lunch, but we ate out for dinner at Johnny's Steakhouse at Village Pointe. I haven't eaten there since my 40th birthday (I'm 45). It was fantastic and I stuck to my plan. I had a 6 oz fillet, salad with vinegar, and asparagus. The fillet had demi-glaze and the asparagus had some olive oil or butter on it, but other than that I was perfect. During Mary's first appointment (2hours), I went to a mall and walked for 33 minutes before starting to shop. We hit that mall two more times and then out to Village Pointe to finish. I had to go to Scheele's to get some new Asics. They have some wides out there. When I logged into SparkPeople later, my activity tracker tracked over 14,000 steps and 6 miles. Wow! That's a lot of shopping!

I haven't gotten to my exercise yet today. I think I'll Zumba to try to loosen up my sore muscles. I bet Sean will want to Zumba with me, and I just got the calls that school is letting out early due to snow. Good! I'll have all my helpers here to help with the laundry!

Way to go, Chris!!!!! It sounds like you and Mary had a great day out. It's fun to do that "girl time" thing - I miss spending special time with just Sarah. And, you're right about the lots of steps you got in while shopping! Fantastic!
Keep up the great work!
