This winter has been miserable. Snow, sicknesses, snow and sickness at the same time and lovely sub-zero temperatures. My energy really got low from the beginning of December until I started the Dr. Oz diet. To say that I had it rough really underestimates how bad it was.
I really have increase my energy since I did the Dr. Oz plan. I still am doing the breakfast smoothie in the morning because it really does make me have more energy for the day. I am still drinking green tea plain. I've had a couple of days of one cup of coffee with very little sugar added, but that's it. I don't want to get back into relying on coffee to have energy.
Fast forward to last night, I got home to a lovely wet snow storm. After dinner I decided to get as much snow off my driveway and walkways as possible so that the morning would be easier. I loved doing it last night! It was around 30 degrees and it felt so much better to shovel in that temperature (I was actually quite warm). The snow was heavy so not a lot of lifting for me (I bend at the knees and use mostly my leg muscles). I have a method of pushing the shovel as far as I need to and then kicking the shovel to remove the snow from it. My upper body strength just isn't as strong as my legs ;)
I got a nice workout last night and after that (mostly because I was so close to getting all my steps in for the day) I also did a SP cardio kickboxing video for 10 min. It got me past my steps goal.
I get to have another round of snow shoveling tomorrow with similar temps. I might as well do my best to enjoy it as it's going to have to be done regardless of my mood.
