Life should leave you feeling a little breathless. You should often feel like you are trying to balance on a sheet of ice. Some days you should even feel a little out of sorts.
Yesterday at work I felt calm and steady. I marveled at how easy my day was . No excitement or adventure. Unfortunately I am on a point system and you guessed calm unrushed me did not make my points, Today I feel that need for urgency back and I should be able to make my points and beyond that.
When I got home from work I grabbed the dog and headed out even though there was 4 inches of snow on the ground and more falling. The ground was a little slippery under my feet. I felt a little off balance, a little off kilter . I was sick of playing it safe. I was sick of missing my workouts . So I picked up the pace but also had my mind on caution.
Cars that passed by me had a look of aw and wonder. Why was I walking when I could be warm and safe inside?. When I returned my own husband asked if my trek outside in the cold was really worth it.
All I can say is Oh My God YES!!!!! I got a great workout in. It is extra hard walking in snow plus dragging a dog around. When you workout in the cold your body has to try to fight to stay warm so you burn more calories. But more importantly I DID IT. I feel accomplished , invigorated , and fulfilled. My muscles are singing this morning . Mission accomplished .
Note to spark people tracker division you need to add walking in snow to your workout list.!!!
So from now on I am not taking things slow and easy I want to feel the rush, the adrenaline . I want to feel the need to go for it. To challenge myself. How about you?
