Last week I had a pretty bad bug. Flu, cold, whatever. Anyways I managed to find excuses to miss every workout last week. So along comes Monday. Its a new week and a new month. So I made myself get up and go to the gym. Its not easy. I am not one of those people who feel great after a workout. Even at my best I leave the gym feeling defeated every time. Usually not by the workout, but by life's other problems that pop into my head while I'm there. Too much thinking time while I'm there.
The important thing is that I made myself go. Each trip there I try to add some time to my cardio and either increase some weight in my strength training routine , or add a new machine. I started with 4 minutes on the elliptical, followed by 6 strength machines, followed by 4 more minutes on the elliptical. Today My routine is up to:
12 minutes on the elliptical,
5 (usually 6 but there was a line today) lower body machines
5 morre minutes on the elliptical
4 upper body machines (usually 5 but again one had a line)
5 more minutes on the elliptical
So to those self defeating thoughts running around in my brain...
SCREW YOU.. I DID OK TODAY!! I GOT THIS!!
