Built-in Stairmaster

Monday, February 03, 2014

This is a picture of the staircase in my brother's house. There are 6 steps from the mainfloor to the landing of this staircase & and 11 more steps toget to the 2nd floor of the house.

I don't need a gym, I just need better knees to go up & down those stairs a few dozen times a day. Believe me, after just a couple times on this stsircase and I just breathing as if I am racing a marathon.

Someday I hope to be able to race up &down these stairs without stopping or huffing & puffing.

EDIT★LOL I can't fix the pictures right-side up...sorry u need to tilt your headfor them

It's a beautiful staircase. But, I know what you mean about it tiring a person out to use the stairs all the time. There were times when DH has had to ask me to go get him something from an upstairs room, b/c his knees hurt too much to use the stairs. In our older age, we want a single story home. On the bright side, open staircases can be quite beautiful with Christmas decorations.

Good for you. 13 steps is considered a "flight" so if you have 16 steps total, and you go up and down ten times, you've really done 12 flights.

It's possible to workout just about wherever you are!!

It will happen sooner than you expect! I'm always amazed at how quickly the body adapts to new challenges. Almost as if it LIKES to get a workout...... Hmmm.....

There are lot's of everyday circumstances that encourage exercise.

    Take Walmart as an example!

"Where shall I take it?" (That's a topic of a different post! emoticon ) (But, if you take it far enough, it's good for the calorie expenditure!)

Every time you finally figure out where they moved the X to, they reorganize the shelves, again. Just the ole Walmart's way of ensuring you get your necessary steps in!

Love this. So true that we can make "it" work almost anywhere. Enjoy your stairs and reap the benefit!
