So January didn't pan out too well for me... but I basically maintained since December, so that's good in a way. I've been floating and flirting with 230, Today on Feb 1, I'm at 230.8 and I'm going to get back on track (for real this time) starting with today.
That means back to tracking and making healthier choices (back to avoiding the soda instead of justifying it, and no more having cookies and ice cream just because they're there).
I think the biggest struggle for me has been being back at home. Mom and dad like to buy and eat junk, and we eat dinner pretty late at night. I'm hoping that I can try to incorporate healthier recipes back into our lives, but that will be the tricky part for me is making food for others (because I know what I like but other opinions butting in creates a challenge). Plus I don't know about any of you Midwest-livers, but THIS WEATHER SUCKS!
I shouldn't complain, but I've definitely used it as an excuse more often than not and I'm going to try not to do that anymore. I know I need the gym, especially if I'm actually going to sign up for a half marathon and run it successfully (I've been waiting on money in order to sign up, I acknowledge I've been dragging my feet).
I need to refer back to my resolution goals, but what I want to work on most right at this very moment is controlling my eating and really utilizing SparkPeople. SO tell me friends; what's your favorite feature or what is something you wish you used more? I want to really better myself and take advantage of all these opportunities I have.
A quick update on life in general: my last day of my campus job was yesterday, which was bittersweet but good for my future fitter self because I will have more time to dedicate to fitness. I had a grad school interview on Thursday that went really well at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. I loved it a lot more than I thought I would and I really enjoyed that they had a "wellness" room where you can go to do zumba/yoga classes, your own workouts, or to just relax
I LOVED that health was a facet of the school, and that they are a big supporter of community service. I'm moved back at home and struggling with that, but I start my part-time job up next week. Looking for other jobs, too, and that process is proving to be stressful. I graduate college on Feb 8th with my BA in Psychology! There will most likely be a blog about that, in case anyone was interested
I'm so glad to be a part of this community and to start really jumping back into connecting with and making new Spark Friends!
