Challenges and Changes

Saturday, February 01, 2014

I spent about an hour and a half on the phone with my mom today trying to help her to reset her password on her present e-mail account and then set up a new e-mail account that she can use to replace her present e-mail account. We also went through her address book and tried to contact everyone that she needed to inform that she is using a new e-mail account instead of the old one.

I am amazed by the challenges that we face as the technology of the younger generation seems to be overtaking and overwhelming members of the previous generation. Sometimes it makes me really angry. I wish that there were something available to members of the previous generations that would help them to learn the new technologies and utilize them with ease if they chose to do so.

I am grateful for the assistance that I have received from members of the younger generations. Don't know where I would be without them.

It's a struggle keeping up with technology yourself and trying to guide a parent who never had to use it. I empathize with you. It sounds like you prevailed, though. Thank you. emoticon

So many times I have had to ask my sons to work me through some weird techno glitch. It is so hard to keep n top of everything. So glad you could help your mom navigate the process.
