I ran about 40 miles this month. Definitely not anything that's Runners' World newsworthy or anything, but considering the weather we've had, and having a battle with winter blues, I'm pretty proud of this accomplishment. I can't tell you how many days I came home from work and just wanted to put on my PJs, drink wine, and watch Netflix for the rest of the night. But I didn't. I put on my workout clothes and I either ran on the treadmill or did Zumba! I did have the occasional slacker moment. Weekends are especially tough, since right now we're very busy with my daughter's extracurricular activities. It's easy to make excuses to not run. But for the most part, I was able to find the motivation to get my butt moving.
In just a little more than a week, I start my half-marathon training program. I'm so excited! And nervous. And a bit scared. And a bit apprehensive. What if I can't run past 5 miles? What if I get injured?
I'm just going to take it one training day at a time.
