Loving Who I Am!!!

Friday, January 31, 2014

As part of the "Pirates Sailing Across The Rainbow Challenge," that my BTS team, the Pink Pirates, are currently working on I needed to write a list of my best attributes. I started the list thinking it's been a long time since of thought about what I do have to offer. The perfectionist that used to reside in me had spent many years focused on all the things I didn't have or things that weren't good enough. I thought the list would be small but I was wrong.....

My best physical attributes:
My beautiful blue eyes
My amazing smile
My thick dark blonde hair
(with its awesome natural highlights)
My fun laugh
My butt (lol)
My hands
My cheeks (they remind me of my Granny)
My singing voice
My TaTas (yep, I'm proud of those suckers)
My super cute ears
My heart (the physical heart)
My brain
My feet (the place I put my favorite thing in the world, MY SANDALS)
My long neck which makes me look very distinguished (insert giggles here)

Now more importantly...
My Best Spiritual Attributes:
My kindness, caring, and selflessness
My passion and drive
My determination
My positive attitude
My deep focus
My grateful heart
My friendliness
My empathetic heart
My love and compassion
My joyful spirit
My inner strength
My warrior spirit
My fearlessness
My stability
My nurturing nature
My intelligence
My wisdom
My hopeful heart
My talkative nature
My stubbornness (yes, it can be a good thing)
My uniqueness
My adaptability
My creativity
My resourcefulness
My Respectful nature
My Reverence
My Helpfulness
My honesty
My playfulness
My humor
My deep sense of responsibility
My loyal nature
My confidence
My intuitive ability
My spirituality
My FAITH

and the list goes on!

What I realized as I wrote this list, which really does go on, is that I finally love who I am enough to give myself credit for all the amazing qualities I do have. I realized that more and more when I look in the mirror what I see is someone I truly love and cherish. It's been a long time since I could say that. I LOVE WHO I AM and seeing that person break free from all the things that have kept her hidden deep inside. I love seeing her grow stronger and more beautiful everyday! I love seeing her stand tall and not shy away from the spotlight because this woman I see deserves her moment to shine!!!!

"I finally love who I am enough to give myself credit for all the amazing qualities I do have." It is so good to read that you admit that and believe that. You have a LOT of great qualities. You are to be admired for that and I really do admire you.

Holy Moly! You are AMAZING. I have squirmed about writing this blog for our challenge because I don't think of myself as having positive attributes, but your list is just...just...inspiring.

    Aft
er knowing you only a few weeks, I can easily see that you EVERYTHING ON YOUR LIST!!!

Thank you for a wonderful blog, Vera. I'll write mine today or tomorrow with a much more open heart to the possibilities in myself because you are so willing to embrace the possibilities in you.

And that is what spreading the spark is all about.
